Expanded About Low-Till

OM LOW-TILL

What is Low-Till?

Low-Till is a method that uses the princibles of Conservation Agriculture. This method is used to disturb the soil  less while plowing and harrowing.

This grants a permanent plant grow and a rotation of crops, where the change in different crops can reduce the pressure of infection and the problems with weeds, simultaneous with an increasement in the soil structure.

Why Low-Till?

The content of organic substance in the soils are becomming so low, that is can effect the productiveness negatively.

The high amount of time and rescources used in the traditional cultivation, makes it harder for farmers to earn good money due to the disproportion in wage level and the international defined prices.

A solution to loss of soil fertility and wage, can be in the carbon preservative agricultural practices, like Low-Till which save time and energi to the exacting soil processings simultaneous with the increasement in the soil fertility.

This gives you savings in time and machinecosts, as Low-till can reach good results while using less pesticedes, money and time. All this come togehter gives the farmer a better profitability.

En bæredygtig kombination med økologi

If you combine ecology with the princibels from Low-Till,

we got the perfect solution for the food production of the

future.

A solution, that spare the drinkringwater from pesticide, gives

a higher resource profit, minimize the clima influence and are

gentle to the biodiversity.

Low-Till devolops machines that makes ecology cultivation

with minimal soil processing possible.

Both for the consideration of the farmer, but for the consumers

need and in the consideration of the environment aswell.

Why do we call it Low-Till?

At Low-Till.com we are followers of the Conservation Agriculture method of cultivation, known as No-Tillbut we believe that we cant fully avoid treatment of the surface of earth or if we wish to practise ecology crops.
Therefor we call it Low-Till

For the ecologist too

Ecology is a coveted thing in Denmark. Almost 1000 farmers did in 2017 seek support to rearrange their fields to ecology. The development are driven by an rising interest for health and sustainability at the consumers - and that makes the ecology to a good business for the farmers. Even though the ecology has a reputation for beeing the most substainable farmingmethod, it struggles with a higher CO2 imprint and a lower profit than the conventional

agriculture.

Expensive soil processing

Plowing is an energy-requiring cultivation method that causes a heavy disturbance of the naturally soil processing and organism. By plowing the soil you awaken weed seeds that have been in hibernation since the last plowing and thereby have keept its ability to sprout. Because of the plowing, you blend and diluent the soil deficiency of organic material that already is under high presure instead of keeping the matter on top where it can be at its most utility.

The increased volume of organic matter increses the development of climate gasses and gives a negatively

influence to the climate too.

Carbon Loss

Plowing involves a period where the plant growth are exposed to wind- and water erosion, which have caused many farmers to experience with reducing the soil processing as much as possible and preferably avoid soil processing.

Soil erosion is world wide a treat towards the production of provisions and by cultivating soil with none soil processing, this problem can be reduced significantly.

Earth tolerance

The extreme weather in Denmark makes the soil vulnerable to floodings and makes the soil impassable with large machines. Low-till stabilize the earth structure and gives a better tolerance and water absorption.
